Hiiiii & welcome! I’m Heather and the owner of A Rose in May, and this is my husband Ben, and our red headed rainbow babies Emma Rose and Dawson Luke! We are from Oklahoma! I started sewing to provide more affordable options for small shop items, making handmade pieces more accessible. My shop, A Rose in May, is named in memory of my oldest daughter, Lyla Rose. In April 2020, we learned that her heart had stopped beating, and on May 1st, she was born. The name reflects her story—a play on the saying “April showers bring May flowers.” Instead, for us, it’s A Rose in May. She had a rare disorder called Turner Syndrome. We gave our sweet Emma her big sisters middle name so that she would always be with her! 💞
